Where have i been ?
I am on my school holidays (i get 6 weeks off) and lately i haven't been posting any blogs because on the first week i was hanging with family, the second week i had my mums birthday , third week i went shopping, forth week which is today i have been doing a lot homework and i had to read a book which it did take up most of my time and on the Tuesday the 6th of August 2013 i get back my standard grade results which here in Scotland is your exam results which you get through the post which is extremely nerve racking and scary. So if your getting your exam results back soon i wish you the best of luck. During the holidays i baked a Chinese sponge cake and soft peanut butter cookies, the recipe i used for the sponge cake was from eat now and cry later on YouTube and cook with April on YouTube which their recipes i tried were easy to follow along with and taste great. Check out my school supplies haul below this blog :)
Peanut butter cookies :)
School supplies 2013
So its the summer holidays and i go back to school soon and i have been school shopping for new supplies for the new school term. NOTE: all prices and place of the product where bought can be found at the bottom of the blog post
The first thing is a school bag and i usually go for a shoulder handbag but i find that the weight of my bag gets extremely heavy , i always get a sore shoulder with just the one strap because its doesn't evenly distribute the weight and i can hardly fit my school folders in. So this year i decided to buy a back pack and it does fit in an a4 lever arch folder, a4 ring binder and a packed lunch box which these items are what takes up the most space in my bag so this year am glad they fit in.
So this is the front of the bag and it has a floral print with brown leather edging , there are two brown strings in the front are draw strings so you can pull them making the top part of the bag close and a magnetic closure in the 2 front pockets as well as the large top part.
In the inside it has 3 separate pouch parts and is complete with pink lining.
To go in the pencil case i bought black and blue ink pens and highlighters .

At school it is preferred that you wear black shoes and so i bought i pair of all black vans. I have tried on my vans because you have to break them in or you will end up with blisters and so far the vans are really comfy and have a really good sole on them.
The next thing i bought was a a4 lever arch folder which has stars and love hearts on the front and it also has a sealed glitter front which the glitter doesn't come off.
I bought a pencil case which has pretty little birds on it and has a vintage feel to it.
To go in the pencil case i bought black and blue ink pens and highlighters .
Prices and Places
Bag : Accessorize £16 on sale
Vans: Schuh £45
A4 lever arch : Paper chase £4.00
Pencil case: Paper chase £6.00

Buys of the week
As you can see by the title its buys of the week so i didn't purchase these all in one day. I bought 3 products from Makeup academy but i like to call it mua , i bought two palettes the top left one is undressed and the bottom left is undress me too , i read some reviews and the palettes have been compared to urban decay's naked palette 1 & 2 and the last thing i bought from mua is a mosaic blush in English rose. I bought i blusher from new york color (NYC) in west side wine. I also bought a lip butter from Nivea in raspberry rose , i was a bit spectacle of buying this as i don't like the smell of rose however you can't smell it and in fact the lip butter smells like fruitellas.
Prices: both mua palettes are £4 and the blusher £2.50 (mua products can be purchased from
superdrug or from the website MUA
The Nivea lip butter was £1.49 from body care
NYC blusher from superdrug £2.99

Simple Room Decors
2 simple room decors
I bought those really small elastic bands for your hair and it just came in a little plastic packet which wasn't really the best way to store them. I just reused a bottle that had bubble bath solution inside and i just rinsed it out and but the elastic bands inside. I also but a ribbon around the bottle as well and because the bottle is glass it gives an elegant feel to my room. So you don't need to go and buy some fancy expensive jar , you could just use what you have around the house. If you don't have a bubble bath bottle you could use a jam jar or a peanut butter jar and just rise it out and add a ribbon or beads around the outside.
I had a cork message board and i didn't find the cork part that attractive so i just added a piece of wall paper that i had that was spare and i also added 2 ribbon pieces to the side. By doing this it matched my room and also filled the space of the cream wall as i needed something to put there. You can put anything you want on to the cork board or just leave it blank , i did have a study plan on it but i took it down since i any have 1 exam left to do.

Review on Maybelline 24hour colour tattoo
These are the two that i purchased , on the left side is pink gold and on the right side is the eternal gold. You can purchase them for around £4.99 which is the normal price but prices may vary as there could be special offers on, so i suggest looking in different shops to get a good bargain :).
Here are some swatches as you can tell they as very shimmery and pigmented.
If you were to take photos with a flash , you can tell that the eyeshadow shows up with the flash and you could tell that you are wearing eye shadow in the picture.
Overall i love these cream eye shadows and hope to be purchasing more as they as very pigmented and you can also pair them with other eye shadows. The colors are great as you could wear them everyday and they are also easy to take off with a baby wipe or make up wipes. I would give these cream eye shadows 5 out of 5 stars.

Product Review on Tresemme Heat Defence
The tresemme heat defence is great as it protects you hair up 230 degrees Celsius so when styling your hair with heat you know you hair is not going to get burn as long as you use the right heat setting for your hair. On the bottle it says smooths fizz and seals in shine which it completely does. The bottle has a spray which is easy application , just spray to your hair and brush through and it also has a lock button to lock it and unlock it. The spray has a scent which is like a shampoo or conditioner smell. Also after styling and your hair is a little frizzy i just spray some tresemme heat defence in my hands and rub them together and apply to my hair to tame it and my hair becomes smooth and shiny. So overall i would give this tresemme product 5 stars out of 5 as it does what it says and you could use it to control frizzy hair.
Disclaimer - i buy all the products myself and am not paid to do it
Product Review on Batiste Dry Shampoo
This is batiste dry shampoo which as a hint of brown color so it would blend in with brown or dark hair so it is perfect because it doesn't show the spray in your hair. It says on the back it removes any excess grease however in my hair it didn't quite do that as i have oily hair at the end of the day and it made it look worse so it looked like my hair was wet but if you have normal hair which doesn't get oily and just needs freshened up then its perfect for you. This dry shampoo does give you volume which is great and it smells like perfumed baby wipes to me. The price of this dry shampoo could be around £3.99 but you can get it cheaper depending where you purchase it and size of the spray. Warning if you have light colored clothes be careful when spraying as it may leave a mark on your clothes because the spray has a hint of brown. I would give this dry shampoo 3 stars out of 5 as it gives you great volume and is a reasonable price but it doesn't really work on my hair as it gets oily easily but if someone else had dry to normal hair am sure it would be a great purchase for them.

Review on Max Factor Creme Puff Powder
I bought this powder from Superdrug and it was £5.99. The powder comes in 8 shades which range from light fair skin to tanned skin. The powder has a light perfume smell to it. I apply it with a fluffy brush but you could also apply it with a make up sponge.
The powder comes with a plastic circle cover which protects the powder and it also comes with a sponge but am not sure if its a make up sponge as it is rather thin but i think its more to protect the powder.
As you can see i have hit the bottom of the product. The powder is easy to apply and does give cover to blemishes without giving it a caked look also when you apply the powder it gives you a flawless look and makes your skin feel smoother. Over all i would give this product 4 out of 5 :)
Buys of the day

I bought Bic black inc pens because right now am on study leave , a black leather effect note book and a spiral hard back bird cage design note book.
Purchases from:
Pens and bird cage note book B&M - 99p
Black leather effect note book from Morrisons - £2.50

Product Review on L'oreal Matt and Messy Salt spray
I bought the salt spray for around £2 ish and it does give you that messy look but not beach like waves which i wanted to achieve. I have really long hair so it just made by hair look like i needed to brush it but if you had shoulder length hair and have natural waves i would purchase it as it would give you the messy and beach like waves. The spray doesn't make your hair sticky or crunchy but does have a slight smell to the product. If you have long hair like me or has straight hair i would curl your hair with loose curls then add the salt to achieve the beach waves. If you try and brush out the product in your hair , you will find yourself tugging at your hair as the product makes your hair hard to brush. Overall i would give the salt spray 3 stars out of 5.
